Remy Goodman, MA

Remy Goodman, MAI am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space that allows for the therapeutic relationship to grow. Many come into therapy feeling hopeless or stuck, and my goal is to help clients find strength, courage, and resilience within themselves. While my therapeutic approach is based in CBT and Feminist orientations, I am flexible in my style depending on the client’s needs. My interests include supporting individuals experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and chronic pain. I also have experience helping individuals with career concerns or indecision, especially those who are working, or hope to work, in creative and artistic fields.

I am passionate about the mind-body connection, and I infuse mindfulness and grounding techniques into my sessions when appropriate. I have found these exercises to be of great help when a client is in a panicked or overwhelmed state. Connecting to our five senses or focusing on emotions that arise in the present moment can be effective ways to re-center and feel more balanced. For those who struggle with listening to gut reactions or instincts, knowledge about the mind-body connection can be the first step towards building internal trust.

I was born and raised in New York City, and will soon be receiving my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Boston University, where I began to pursue my own creative interests, such as writing, painting, and photography. I spent many years living in Los Angeles and working in the entertainment industry before moving back to NYC to become a mental health counselor.
