Maggie Hartmann, LMHC

I believe that everyone deserves support and a space to be heard. If you have found yourself here because you are experiencing a difficult time in your life, or if you have a loved one who is struggling, you are in the right place. I work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and have a specialization in child and adolescent therapy. I also have specialized and extensive experience treating eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Treatment with me may also address goals for mood regulation, anxiety reduction, healing from trauma, improved body image and self-concept, and healthy, close relationships with loved ones.

I take an integrative and relational approach to therapy with use of various evidence-based therapy practices. I heavily utilize the Unified Protocol (UP), an emotion-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach, as well as pull concepts from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Therapy, and Family Systems.

I value and strive for the best possible treatment outcomes, and encourage a team approach with my clients, including regular collaboration with other treatment providers, families, and/or caregivers. I practice from a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens, and am HAES aligned. I spent the last 5 years in clinical team leader and site director roles at the Renfrew Center NY, one of the nation’s leading eating disorder treatment providers, and prior worked extensively with children and adolescents across a variety of settings that include inpatient, residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and baking.

If any of this resonates with you, or if you are looking to take that first step to seek the support and answers you need, I am here to listen to you and guide you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to schedule a consultation!
