Emily Rabin, Intern

Emily Rabin, InternEveryone has a unique story, and I would love the opportunity to learn about yours. Since it takes courage to begin therapy, I strive to create a comfortable, supportive, and judgment-free environment. As your therapist, I can offer you compassion, empathy, respect, and an open mind. Here, I truly believe that all human beings have the capacity for growth and change.

I am passionate about helping people who are struggling with anxiety, panic disorders, low self-esteem, and the impact of trauma. I take an integrative approach that utilizes evidence-based strategies for symptom relief, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and pair them with a deeply held desire to understand the root cause of the issues that an individual may be dealing with. I am also grounded in a personal mindfulness practice, and I often utilize breathwork and somatic awareness.

After working for several years as a graphic designer, I decided to follow my long-held dream of becoming a therapist. Currently, I am completing my master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU. Prior to this, I received an undergraduate degree in Photojournalism from Indiana University, and a master’s degree in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. I am a lifelong New Yorker, and I am currently raising two die-hard city kids. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching episodes of The Good Place.
