I am an undergraduate student at Adelphi University completing my final year of studies and interning part-time at SelfWorks. I am interested in the human condition and the treatment of common mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and stress. During my junior year, I completed a research project that looked at the stress levels of Adelphi students. I wanted to examine and share the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on students, leaving thousands of people anxious and pessimistic about their present and future. This experience also deepened my appreciation for how therapy can help others in need. I believe therapy can be a beneficial and beautiful experience. Therapy can be a place to improve interpersonal communication, develop better health choices, find coping strategies, and feel more empowered to manage ongoing troubles.
In May of 2022, I will be graduating from Adelphi University with a BS in Criminal Justice and BA in Psychology. I plan to attend Fordham University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology. My dream goal is to provide mental health counseling to various clients who face psychological, emotional, and/or behavioral distress.
