I believe that everyone has the potential for success, regardless of past circumstances, and that with hard work and the right guidance, it is possible to transcend adversity and thrive. The past does not have to define us. My passion is helping people gain the confidence they need to achieve their goals. I work with adults in individual, couples and group therapy. Some of my specialties include depression, anxiety, relationships, dating, confidence, self-worth, career and life transitions. My approach is warm, caring and interactive.
Prior to joining SelfWorks, I have worked in outpatient mental health settings and for the last 4 years have been the coordinator of a Women’s Health Initiative for the performing arts and entertainment community. With a background in the arts myself, I enjoy helping people tap into their creative energy and achieve more authenticity in their lives. I completed my post-graduate training at NYU School of Medicine’s Institute for Psychoanalytic Education (IPE) and the Psychoanalytic Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society (CFS). In addition to my extensive psychodynamic training, I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). As a long time practitioner of mindfulness meditation, I often incorporate mindfulness techniques into my therapeutic work with individuals and groups. These techniques are especially useful for managing stress and improving communication and leadership skills. I also supervise early career social workers and graduate level students.
As a contributor for PsychologyToday, The Huffington Post and Goodtherapy.org, I often write about mental health awareness and de-stigmatization, for which I am a strong advocate. I believe that without mental health, there is no health. Self-care and self-compassion are essential. I look forward to joining you on the journey toward reaching your potential and achieving success.
