The name SelfWorks was created to share our belief that in the right environment, with the right guidance, the self… works. Therapy can be like an aspirin, a treatment for the relief of your pain and symptoms. Therapy can also be approached like a vitamin, to promote continued health, while helping your mind flourish and thrive. Since it can be used in these ways, we strongly believe there is never a bad time to start therapy. Our team of mental health professionals are sensitive and passionate about their therapeutic responsibility to you and want to help individuals from all backgrounds achieve their best self. At SelfWorks, you have the benefit of a private, confidential therapy with the added advantage of an interdisciplinary consult team that comes together weekly to learn, grow and expand their expertise.

Our therapists utilize evidence-based treatments so you get the results you want in the most effective way. We practice Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Exposure Therapy; Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD; Interpersonal Psychotherapy; Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD; Relaxation and Mindfulness Training; and Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy. After a comprehensive consultation, we will discuss your treatment needs and choose the best approach to meet those goals.
At SelfWorks, you will be able to talk about anything that comes to your mind in a space free of judgment. Many of us struggle with indecision and worry about making the right choices. You likely have what it takes to exercise good decisions, but you may have had few opportunities to talk things over with someone who doesn’t try to make your decisions for you. We will help you define your values and practice the strategies you need to succeed. With us, you will draw connections between your experiences that will bring about healthy thoughts, self-worth and a new perspective.
At SelfWorks, we know how hard it can be to make that initial call and will approach your questions and concerns with sensitivity. Our intake coordinator, Nick Galef, will schedule an intake appointment, as well as match you with a qualified therapist based on your goals, scheduling needs, therapist’s specializations and treatment approach. You can contact Nick at (914) 341-2628.
We know that your time, in and outside, of therapy sessions is valuable, so we have designed a billing system geared toward efficiency. This system includes a convenient automatic payment option and electronic statements sent to your private patient portal for ease of organization and record keeping. We are well-versed in the complexities of insurance plans and happy to communicate with you and/or your insurance company when necessary. Whether you are using in-network or out-of-network benefits, you will have a dedicated billing advocate to make sure reimbursements are timely and your financial responsibility is known and clear. This boutique consultation service benefits our practice-patient relationships and takes one additional stress off your hands. You can reach our billing department for administrative and billing questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or (917) 720-2764.
